  • 2024: Treasurer of FENS

  • 2023: Chair elect of EBBS to be held in 2023 hosted in Amsterdam

  • 2019: Chair of the Dutch neuroscience meeting to be held in 2020 and 2021

  • 2018 - present: Treasurer and member of the committee of EBBS

​

  • 2018: Organized and self-funded The Brain SINposium. An international symposium focusing on the cross-talk between Stress, Inflammation and Nutrition (with leader experts from Harvard (Bilbo), France (Laye) and all over the Netherlands), 22 March 2018; https://brainsinposium.wixsite.com/brain-sinposium. This SINposium was funded by NWO, ABC Amsterdam and SILS-UvA

  • 2012-present: Member of the organizing committee of the main Dutch neuroscience conference responsible for the program of the conference

​

  • 2016: Invited to the panel of experts from the Hersenstichting as Nutritional neuroscience research expert to decide on the new program and goals of the upcoming call in “Healthy Brain”.

​

  • 2015: Organized (in collaboration with Lidewij Schipper, Nutricia research) a one day symposium at Nutricia research to present and promote the different lines of research and current collaboration of my team to the different departments of Nutricia research

​

  • 2014: Organized together with Dr. Krugers (UvA) a Summer School focusing on “Early-life programming of brain and behavior” for the Cognitive Science Center Amsterdam of the University of Amsterdam. June 16-25

​

  • 2014: Organized together with Dr. Krugers (UvA) a two day International symposium focusing on “Early-life programming of brain and behavior” These involved the top scientists in the field from all over the world (including Prof Meaney (Canada), Prof Baram (California), Prof Mansuy (Switzerland), Prof Roseboom (Amsterdam), Prof Ijzendoorn (Leiden), Prof Rainkonnen (Finland). June 26-27

  • 2005: Organized together with Prof Kozicz (RUN) a symposium on “Neurobiology of the CRF neuropeptide family. From basics to clinical implications” Radboud University of Nijmegen, the Netherlands, among others international and national guest Prof. Wylie Vale (Salk Institute California) and Prof. Ron de Kloet (Leiden).
